ICIC is pleased to be a recipient of the Tower Hamlets Council Mayor’s COVID Recovery Cohesion Events Fund, which is managed by the East End Community Foundation (EECF).

The purpose of the Mayor’s COVID Recovery Cohesion Events Fund is to support a programme of community events for the benefit of Tower Hamlets residents, focused on building community cohesion and re-connecting communities who have been most affected by the pandemic.

As part of the fund, ICIC will host five community cohesion dialogue sessions aimed at bringing together different communities within Tower Hamlets and celebrate the diversity of the borough. A core focus of the discussion will be for residents to come together and share their experiences of COVID-19, as well as identify potential collective solutions to local problems.

Understanding Contemporary far-right movements in collaboration with Institute for Strategic Dialogue Aya90 Thu, 09/27/2018 - 12:45

On 27th September, as part of our ongoing efforts to building more resilient communities, ICIC held a workshop which was delivered by the Institute of Strategic Dialogue (ISD) entitled ‘The Contemporary far-right; Trends, Tactics and Key Players’.

The workshop was specially designed to inform ICIC and its partners of the current issues and trends in regards to far-right movements. For ICIC, it is vital that staff, partners and volunteers are aware of the current issues and espoused narrative used by hate mongers and extremists who are actively seeking to divide our communities across Britain.

Understanding these issues is fundamentally important in enabling our network to work closely with communities to adopt the right safeguarding measures as well as carrying out initiatives that will develop and promote stronger cross community partnerships that can withstand and propel divisive hate speech.
